Mart's Ford Pop!
Part 1: Let's get started!
Found an ad for a Ford pop on Zane Llewellyn's bristol based website. It was complete, stock, and the price was right. I hired a trailer, borrowed a car capable of towing it, and dragged it back from Shepton Mallet, way south of here. It was a little bit scruffier than the photo suggested, but will make a good basis for a project.

This is the photo I saw with the ad. Like I say, complete. All four wings are shot. Registration number now resides on a Bentley, sold under the UK's cherished number scheme. DVLA were helpful in advising the replacement number and have now issued a replacement registration document.

Back home, better shot shows bad front wing, poor chrome on bumper, and T-Birdesque trims added to the bonnet sides. It's very unusual to find a pop in this country that hasn't been either rodded, restored, gutted or botched.

Rust damage to the front wing can be seen here. Rear wing also harbouring rot. Rear window rubber had rotted, glass was resting on rear shelf.

Seats are in quite good nick. Love the steel dash and simple guages. Lots of spiders seem to have made their home in here.
headlining (not shown) is a mess. Nice old banjo wheel on the early pops. Driver's door handle replaced by a window winder for some reason. Driver's side wooden floor is quite rotten (dry, powdery rot).
Stock 1172cc 4 cylinder was still in place, coaxed it into life, but it was only running on 2 cylinders. plugs were removed when this shot was taken. Didn't waste a lot of time on the motor as I knew I wasn't going to use it.
